How long will it take to receive my photos?

I upload all galleries on the Monday following that weekend’s session.

Once you send me your selections to be retouched, it will take me within the following week to edit and update your gallery with your selected retouches. I will resend your gallery once I’ve done so.

*In the case you need your photos quickly, I offer expedited galleries and retouching at the rates below:

Same-day initial gallery: $20

Next-day retouches: $30

How many retouches are included?

• Full Individual Session: 5 free retouches included

• Joint Session: 3 free retouches included per person

• Mini Individual Session: 3 free retouches included

Additional retouches: $10 per photo

Every client will get to keep all unedited photos from their session. 

What type of retouching do you do?

All retouching is done by me, and includes retouching of the face (removing acne and blemishes, brightening the eyes, subtle teeth whitening, removing dark circles beneath the eyes as well as any unwanted wrinkles or smile lines) and lighting retouches (removing any unnecessary shadowing  on the face, heightening contrast between hair and the backdrop, and color correction). If you are dissatisfied with your retouches upon receiving them, please do not hesitate to reach out and I will do my best to make adjustments. 

What kinds of looks should I bring?

We will generally only see from just below your chest and up, so no need to stress about bringing different types of pants, just focus on tops. 

My first recommendation when picking out what looks to bring is don’t overthink it! Headshots are supposed to be a representation of YOU! We of course can play with all of the different energies of your personality, but start with what you feel the most confident wearing on a casual day. If you love to wear things that are bright and colorful and layered, bring that! If you feel more comfortable in things that are darker or more muted, that’s ok too! I recommend bringing at least one top that represents whatever your “neutral” is. 

Then, think of what you have in your closet that may uniquely represent different sides of who you are. It doesn’t necessarily serve you as well to bring the same shirt in 4 different colors. Think about the different characters you have inside your personality, and bring whatever in your closet represents them the best! Don’t be afraid to bring colors or textures (sweaters, denim, hoodies, etc)! Patterns are fine as well, as long as they aren’t too busy or distracting. Avoid logos or brand names if you can. 

For a full individual session I do allow unlimited looks, but keep in mind that the more looks you bring, the harder it is to narrow down what you’ll actually end up using as your headshots. 

How much makeup/hairstyling is recommended?

The best rule of thumb is keep it natural! Whatever type of makeup or hairstyling that you would wear to an audition on a casual day is what you should put on for your headshots. I ask that you come as hair/makeup ready as possible, but I do have a makeup mirror that you are welcome to use if you would like to touch up, add, or remove any makeup or hairstyling throughout your session. 

If you would like a recommendation for a makeup artist, feel free to ask and I can get you in touch with some wonderful artists with great rates!

For those with facial hair, you are welcome to shave at any point during your session if you would like shots with and without, please just be mindful of how long it may take as I am not able to add additional time to your session.

Can I bring a friend along to my session?

Yes! If you want any friends to come along and hype you up throughout your session, you are totally encouraged to bring them! 

However, if you and a friend both want headshots done in the same session, please book a joint session! More info can be found on my booking page! 

Can I play music during my session?

Yes! I always have music playing throughout all my shoots! Your headshots will turn out better the more comfortable you feel, and I think music is a great way of putting people at ease. You are more than welcome to bring your own playlist, or I can put on an artist, genre, era, etc. of whatever type of music makes you feel good about yourself! If you don’t know, no stress- I have my own playlist of chill, upbeat vibes I can put on if you’d prefer that. 

(PS: Don’t be insecure about your music taste! I love ALL kinds of music and getting to know new artists!)

Can I post my photos?

Of course! I would love if you would tag me when you do, using @carolinerose_headshots!

I post many of my clients’ headshots on Instagram account @carolinerose_headshots for my own marketing purposes and am always sure to tag clients if they use Instagram. If you would prefer me not to post your shots to my Instagram, please let me know during your session. 

**PLEASE NOTE: I kindly ask that if you intend to post any photos from your session (again, happily encouraged!) that you do NOT add your own additional editing or filters to the photos. If you do, please refrain from crediting or tagging me as it is no longer a representation of my work. If you would like me to adjust your retouches, please reach out and I am happy to do so! Thank you for understanding. 

Do you have a waitlist?

Yes. If you would like to book your session at the earliest available opening, please email me at photo.carolinerose@gmail.com so that I can add you to the waitlist. Cancellations and clients that do not confirm within 24 hours of their session will be opened up to the waitlist. 

What are your cancellation/rescheduling policies?

I get it, life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule your headshot session, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can open up the time slot to waitlist clients. 

I charge a rescheduling fee of $35 if you cancel within 48 hours of your initially scheduled session time and would like to reschedule. This charge will simply be added to the overall cost of your session once you pick a date to reschedule. 

*As an actor myself, in the case that I book something that needs me on the day of your scheduled session, I will let you know immediately so we can work together to find the earliest possible rescheduling date and I will give you a 10% discount on your rescheduled session. 

Cancellations and rescheduling can be done through on your initial booking confirmation email.
